New York’s Guggenheim

I took this quick shot (with a camera phone) in New York’s Guggenheim Museum today. It’s an installation that’s a huge curtain of fresnel lenses sewn together. Depending on where you stand, the effect changes and is very weird.

Pregnancy

Recently I’ve started doing some pregnancy shots. It’s a little trickier than a lot of other kinds of portraits. It’s even more critical that the shots have emotion, and it can be hard to generate the right kind of emotion in this kind of photo.

I’m working through my backlog of shots and took a few minutes to do some processing on this one. I think that the client is really going to like it. Let me know what YOU think about it.

Balloons!

At my event this past weekend, my clients were getting ready at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. While we were doing some formal shots, there was a birthday party in progress for a young girl. When they saw Amanda, they came out of their party and gave her their balloons. Very cute.

And, one the same note, how lucky of a kid are you if you parents throw you a party at the Claremont? Chuck E. Cheese, eat your heart out!

I recently got a chance to shoot with Laura and Ryan on their wedding day. They had lots of great ideas for photos, and we all had a lot of fun shooting. As I was going through their photos, I pulled out four that caught my eye!

The ring bearer wasn’t too happy about the posed photos. This one, however, is a keeper.

But wait, there’s more…

Wow, that’s a lot of tuxedos. I asked for some attitude, and they brought it.

The bride also came ready to take lots and lots of photos. I think she’s going to be pretty happy when she sees them.

I recently switched from a home-brew web page to a professionally designed site. I’d like to thank the guys at Parade for doing a great job getting me launched.
